Rapid e-commerce growth driving new delivery opportunities

Dragonfly delivery contractor

Dragonfly is now actively looking for new last-mile delivery companies (known as Independent Delivery Contractors or IDCs) in Australia. This initiative reflects the growth opportunities that exist throughout the industry, but especially for those skilled at providing the final leg of home delivery.

The forecast for the Australian market is positive as demonstrated in a report on e-commerce in Australia. The report states: “Australia eCommerce market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.1% reaching a market volume of US$75.2 billion (AU$94.7 billion) by 2028.”

Real-time demand

None of this comes as a surprise to Chantal Chauvet, IDC Relations Director at Dragonfly.

“What industry analysts are predicting for the future is happening in real time for us on the ground in Australia,” she says. “We are seeking new IDCs precisely because there is escalating demand for our services driven by commensurate demand for the products marketed and sold by our e-commerce clients.”

The home delivery space is fertile ground for those with an entrepreneurial mindset and a willingness to put “sweat equity” into their business. Dragonfly collaborates with IDCs which are already established and are keen to expand their business.

The company has been on a rapid growth trajectory itself, currently serving a growing network in Australia.

With an established network of 105 stations worldwide and counting, enterprising IDCs can quickly grow their delivery operations from one station to regional operations across multiple locations.

Wanted: Go-Getters

The onboarding process for new IDCs wanting to join the Dragonfly network is fast and friction-free. While there is a ramp-up period, new IDCs can quickly integrate the technologies and proven processes that Dragonfly provides to hit the road as soon as possible.

“If we accept your delivery company as a new IDC, it means that we have the business demand in your serving area,” says Chantal. “Our most successful IDCs are owned/managed by ‘go-getters’ – people who have a hunger to grow their business and who are prepared to pursue success. That includes an unwavering dedication to delivering service excellence to consumers who expect their merchandise to be delivered as promised.”

“As an IDC, you have great leeway in deciding how to manage your business, how to grow it, and how to define your own personal and business success. We offer a true entrepreneurial opportunity; the rest is up to you.”, says Chantal.
