Helping new IDCs succeed at last-mile delivery

You have just signed on to become an Independent Delivery Contractor (IDC) for Dragonfly, your enthusiasm is through the roof, and your drivers and vehicles are ready to go.

So, what’s next you might ask.

The answer is just about everything you could possibly need to ensure your success as an IDC, leverage the power of Dragonfly technologies, and increase your revenues. That’s because hundreds of IDCs have joined the Dragonfly delivery ecosystem in Canada and Australia over the years. During that time, the company has created and staffed a team dedicated to helping IDCs succeed.

“While the technology and processes we offer to IDCs are incredibly helpful, it’s the business relationships we build with them that helps foster their success,” says Chantal Chauvet, Director of IDC Relations at Dragonfly. “We are keenly aware that our success as a last-mile logistics supplier is greatly shaped by the dedication and performance of IDCs and their drivers. We make sure no detail is overlooked.”

Starting your journey

The onboarding process for IDCs is quick and seamless, often as fast as 24 hours, allowing them to hit the road as soon as possible.

To support their onboarding, comprehensive orientation is provided by the company. IDCs are given the tools they need to train their drivers, as well as online overview on how to use the company’s technology such as the driver app, our one-stop-shop for drivers and IDCs to manage their deliveries.

IDCs are also invited to visit the local Dragonfly station (or stations) they will be providing services to, to better understand the workflow and the key Dragonfly station functions and employees involved.

Tailored support

Every IDC is assigned an IDC relationship specialist from within Chantal’s team who acts as your champion. If you’re facing a particular challenge, want tips on how to keep your drivers engaged, or are curious about ways to increase your revenues, chances are your relationship specialist has the answers.

Dragonfly is happy to provide IDCs with commercial advantages and support in managing their business, including preferential rates on vehicle leasing or helping them assess their needs when transitioning to an electric fleet. Using electric vehicles helps IDCs achieve greater fuel efficiency and cost savings, while advancing our goal of providing greener deliveries.
